I was interested in lesson plans for ELL students. I did a little research and found a website that has many sample lessons for ELL students at varying levels.

I saw one student make a comment that we should create a lesson for our final written project. The only problem with this would be that so far I have been taught about seven different ways to create lesson plans. I have found one that works for me, but it might not be the kind that our professor would want us to do. I would rather not add another way to do a lesson plan to the many I have already been taught.
Instead I purpose that we each pretend that we have an ELL student in our classroom. We could write a report discussing what strategies we would use to help that student feel more comfortable and less afraid in the classroom and also what we would do to help that student learn. This would use the information we read about in the big assignment.

I checked out that site and I found it very interesting and helpful. I agree with you about the lesson plan assignment. I feel like that is not an accurate way to measure what we have done in this class. However, I do agree with you about writing a report discussing the strategies we would use to help an ELL student. I feel like this assignment would benefit everyone greatly and also allow us to be more creative than just writing a lesson plan.
Another reason why I like your idea is because one of my friends is in the other Tuesday night class and she told me what their assignment was, and it did not sound that interesting to me. I think this assignment would be very good and people will find it extremely beneficial.
I agree that sounds like a pretty good final assignment. Your also right about being able to use the info from the "big assignment". I found that info very helpful and the clips interesting to listen to. We would be able to show what we learned from the "big assignment" and how we would incorporate that into a classroom setting.
I think that is a great idea. We had a similar assignment in my "Disabled People In American Society" class. We had to write different strategies that we would use to make the disabled student feel more comfortable, and for the overall classroom to be the most effective learning environment possible. The assignment was great because we got to apply all the information that we have learned in an extremely practical way. We all learned a lot from this assignment because we were not just reiterating facts, we actually had to use the information.
