School of the future?

According to Ben Okri, schools of the future are supposed to not only teach students about general science, math, English or any other important matter for our society but also they have to teach about the knowledge of self-discovery. I totally disagree with this article since I believe that people can not be taught about it. People are in total charge of change and self-mastering their lives and people learn how to do this by those many mistakes in life or good opportunities that life itself brings to them.
The article mentions that schools prepare students to a have a job once they graduate, but that schools from the future will also prepare students to look ahead and not only have a job but be perfect in life. I personally think that if I want to be perfect or a want to be someone important and have a better career or a better future I have to work my ass off and no school is going to help me change that because life is way different that how books present it. Yes, maybe they can teach about what to do in certain occasions but even though, like a said before situations in life are always different and are not the same every time they happen.
The part I must disagree with is the last sentence of paragraph number 3 on page 2 where it says that “Universities ought not only to turn out students confidents in [many areas] but people who can enrich the life of the planet as human beings. Just to think about it, if you become president of a large business company will you forget of what is good for you your family and the rest of the world? School teaches you the path to become that president of that company but LIFE teaches you how to act, what to do and the many ways you can make it better.

Hi Andino. First, I think that it is very funny the blunt way of telling what you believe is true or disagree with. Yet I have to say that I somewhat agree with him. Maybe because I feel that we as humans should do and know much more than what we do. I guess what I am trying to say is that we have the potential to explore all aspects of life and our abilities as humans that go beyond the five senses and 10% of our brain. I know that Okri, puts too much thought into how philosophers like Plato or Aristotales used to think, learn and talk (by only asking questions), but there is some truth to his article, that we do not ask enough questions, and we do not learn to discover ourselves and how to see, or listen (to really listen) to other people. We go about this world and never really stop to look into other peoples eyes, which is thought to be the door to our soul. Maybe that is what this article is about, something more than what the eye can meet, about things we cannot explain because we do not search for the answers within ourselves. Okri speaks of intuition, this is something I believe in, but of course not everyone does, therefore placing this article into the non-sense, gibberish pile bin for many. But you do make a point...we do work our ass off to become a better us in order to follow the ways of life as it is...no money, no honey.
