Blogging is a series of entries that are displayed on a website and shown in reverse chronological order. An early descendant of blogs are journals and diaries. Blogs are mostly written, but can also include audio clips, videos, music, photographs, etc. They have become very popular and are used by artists, politicians, and obviously in schools. I think blogging is a great tool to use to enrich a college level course. Blogging was especially effective in the course. I think that we were all able to feed off one another's opionions and information that we have relayed back and forth. I am looking into a Travelearn course in Peru during the winter break and they use blogging to enrich the experience that you have while on your trip! I think this method is very effective and could also be used with our future students, obviously with the older ones. It would be very effective in practicing communication skills, grammar, and internet skills. The web is something that should be incorporated into our classrooms as the world around us becomes more and more computer savvy.
This is a very good site!

Remember, blogging does not have to be used only in a Language Arts class. Blogging should be considered for use in all subject areas to enrich the classroom. I hope that everyone considers using blogging in the future! Good Luck!

What a nice succinct definition of blogging. I've bookmarked and intend to go through the links you provide.
Thanks for sharing. :)
I keep forgetting who you are, FCP...name please?
Thanks for this posting and these two great websites. They're great!
(I wish there was a way that each of you had a little photo that went with your screen name. Some of you did such an outstanding job with these comments and postings and I regret to say that I haven't been able to associate you with your names...that's the BIG regret of having such a large class in such a short amount of time!)
I really liked the way you defined blogging and gave examples of how they are used. To be honest I have never blogged before, but it is clear that it is very popular. I am going to be a middle school teacher and I never even considered using blogging in my class. After I checked out the sites that you provided I think I would like to try and incorporate it in my teaching. It is really simple and unthreatening way to integrate technology into the lessons. I checked out the site that you provided with examples of using blogging in the classroom and I really enjoyed them. Thanks for the great sites!
This course was the first time I had ever used blogging. The first class, when we signed up for the blog, I really thought it was going to be a disaster. I couldn't get signed into the blog even after several tries, and to be honest I was very turned off by it. As I began to blog however, I became more comfortable using the blog and really began to enjoy writing posts and commenting on other posts. I have grown to like blogging very much, and I think it would be a great tool to use in the classroom. Incorporating technology into the classroom is very important, and I think blogging is a great way to give students the opportunity to use technology. I definitely would like to use blogging in my classroom if possible. It is a great way for students to share thoughts, ideas, and opinions, ask questions, and get some good feedback. I think students would really enjoy blogging.
I'm Francesca Pasquale :)
