First Day
I had a rocky start to my junior field. Up until 7:15 this morning, my cooperating teacher had no idea that she was in fact participating as a cooperating teacher. I had emailed her a few days ago to hopefully meet with her, but she told me she had no idea who I was or what I was doing. Needless to say this morning was a little crazy. Fortunately, she seems to be very nice and I got to meet all the other faculty members in her "team" and they also seem very nice. We didn't do too much today. The students were all out for testing so it gave me a good chance to get to know my cooperating teacher and to go over the Junior Field packets that we were given. When the students returned I got to meet all of them and we went over a brief math lesson and then the students had the rest of the day to work on their History Expo Projects. The projects all focus on the Civil War and they seem pretty interesting. Some people are recreating famous battles with army men and some are recreating scenes of camplife with miniature tents and they all seem really creative. Unfortunately, the Civil War is not really an area that i studied extensively, but I have to prepare a lesson introducing Reconstruction by the end of the week. Hope everyone enjoyed their first day!

Your first day sounded frightening! There is nothing more uneasy than having your cooperating teacher tell you that he/she has no idea who you are or what you are doing in the class. Hopefully things will fall into place with you, your coop, and the students.
Your first day did sound frightening!! Thankfully your cooperating teacher seems to be a nice woman. Although the Civil War is not really your area, I'm sure that with the help of your coop teacher and with preparation, you'll do great. Good luck!
I agree that your first day sounded frightening! I would feel the same way if my cooperating teacher did not even know who I was.I'm glad to see that at least your teacher is nice though! Your social studies class sounds like it will be interesting and fun. The projects sound like the students will have a good time with them. Although it seemed like a rocky start I really hope it gets better for you and I know it will! Good luck!
