I'm curious about the reaction and execution of this assignment.
Not one person has asked or commented about it since it's been posted.
I can't believe no one has asked how much of it you're expected to do...there are so many links to more to read and think about.
What are you doing?
Are you reading every page of every section?
Skimming?
Thinking about it or barely getting through it?
Are you really going through every link on every page?
Since we don't meet until a week from Monday, June 5th, I'm looking forward to some very comprehensive discussions between you students regarding the material from this site...which again is:
http://www.state.nj.us/education/njpep/pd/ell_mainstream/index.html
you also have to come up with your idea of what the one written assignment (related to this specific assignment) will be.
Remember the formula: 1/3 in-class participation; 1/3 Blog participation, and 1/3 the one written assignment.
Hope you enjoy your long weekend and your last week in junior field--see you all on Monday June 5th.

I’m Karol and just so you don’t worry I already started to read the big assignment.
I finished already part one, but maybe I did something wrong because I finished in less than one hour. I haven’t seen the rest but if it's like part one then is not that hard.
P.S : I liked the audio part a lot. Especially the one from the girl who eat pizza for almost two years because she was afraid of speaking English. I think that happens to almost everybody who speaks another language when they first come to the U.S that icludes me!!!!!
Enjoy your weekend
I have begun the big assignment as well. I have also completed the first section of the assignment. I agree with karol. The audio part was very interesting and informative. I feel like I learned a lot from reading the first section, but like Karol, I finished it in less then an hour. I like the assignment so far.
I have also begun reading and listening to the audios in our assgnment, but I'm still not sure of what is it that you want us to do? Am I supposed to do the assignments from each chapter (I hope not)? And if I do, will you be grading them? Is it just to go through each part and discuss later? I'm confused. Maybe I'm just overthinking everything because I have another online class along with my junior field and I am just overwhelmed. Anyway see ya' on Monday.
I have also completed part one of the online assignment. I have learned a lot from listening to the audio and taking the online quizzes. But I am not sure what I am supposed to do with them. I have been saving everything i write down and read so that I can bring it up in class or write a blog about it. I hope that is what I am supposed to do.
I have also started the assignment and have completed the first assignment. I remember asking you in last week's class if we were supposed to be writing down what were doing on paper. For example, the quiz, I could not complete it online. I remember you saying something regarding the assignment and that our written assignment is based on us completing this one. Maybe I am also confused??
However, I completed the first part and also found the audio clips interesting. It took me a little bit to complete and I find it to be a good assignment as well.
I have listened to all the audio on part one and watched the Elementary video clips. I am a bit confused with the 1st part assignment thou. Are we supposed to be doing the small assignments in each part? (the 1st assignment is to make a plan of action to sensitize school personnel), are we supposed to be doing this? Also, where are the quizzes located? I have read in the classmates posts that they have taken the quizzes but i can't seem to find them in part one? Thanks
Hi, I'm Kathi. I've gotten through part 3 of the Big Assignment. Are we supposed to be filling out the charts and rubrics?
I was left with the impression that we were only supposed to read the material and start to brainstorm on what our writing assignment should be on based on this "Big Assignment". Am I wrong?
I am almost done reading the big assignment. I found section three to be most interesting. I liked the tips it gave for teaching ESL students. Paraphrase in simple sentences is a great way to communicate with ESL students. I also thought it was important to use a lot of visual artifacts when teaching.
I have started it also. I actually printed out alot of the things and highlighted what I thought was important to show that I have actually read it. I have printed the quiz and some other activities. I am not sure if we need to be doing the little assignments and assessments to the side of the pages or not. I'm sure we will find out on MOnday night.
I have begun reading and listening to the audios in our assignment,I had to do it twice to understand it better. Although it is very interesting and informative but I'm still not sure of what is it that you want us to do? Am I supposed to do the assignments from each section???I'm confused. Maybe I'm just overthinking everything. Please help??
Everything is so interesting and help ful in a classroom. But I am going to teach Spanish I can still apply some techniques in the classroom but not all of them, I like them all anyway!!!!!!!!
